Download the Launcher
Java is already included
The Windows, macOS and Linux installers below package their own Java runtime, so
you do not need to install Java yourself. Only the cross-platform JAR needs Java
supplied by you.
By downloading the launcher, you agree to the
Beta Evolutions usage & IP terms.
Finding the latest launcher…
Windows SmartScreen may appear on first launch - a blue
“Windows protected your PC” box. This happens because our installer isn’t
code-signed, not because anything is wrong with the download. Click
More info, then Run anyway.
Which Mac do I have?
We can’t detect this from your browser, and the wrong build will not
launch. Open the Apple menu › About This Mac:
- Chip: Apple M1, M2, M3 or M4 → choose Apple Silicon
- Processor: Intel → choose Intel
Open the .dmg and drag the launcher into Applications.
macOS may refuse to open it the first time, saying it is from an
unidentified developer. This is the same unsigned-installer reason as on Windows.
Right-click (or Control-click) the launcher and choose Open, or go to
System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
The .deb package covers Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Pop!_OS. Install it from
the folder you downloaded it to:
sudo apt install ./beta-evolutions-launcher-linux-x64-<version>.deb
On Fedora, Arch, openSUSE or anything else? There is no native package for
those - see the JAR tab for the cross-platform build.
You need your own Java
Java 25 is recommended as it provides the best performance. Recent versions of
Java 8 also work. Unlike the installers, the JAR does not supply one.
Most systems will run it if you double-click the .jar.
If nothing happens - not every system associates .jar files with Java - open a
terminal in the folder you downloaded it to and run:
java -jar beta-evolutions-launcher-<version>.jar
